Collins is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, specializing in Andean politics, social and indigenous movements, and the New Left. Her research focuses on political participation by indigenous and social movements in Ecuador and Bolivia. She has several published book chapters and articles, and is currently finishing a book manuscript that looks comparatively at the relationship between social movements and the new left governments of Rafael Correa in Ecuador and Evo Morales in Bolivia.

Jennifer M. Piscopo is Assistant Professor of Politics at Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA. John Crabtree jfdc261250 John Crabtree is a research associate of the Latin American Centre, Oxford University, and a senior member of Saint Antony’s College. He holds BA/MA degrees in modern history from Oxford University, a BPhil from Liverpool University and a PhD from Oxford Brookes University. He has written and lectured widely on the politics of Latin America, with a specialist interest in the politics of the Andean region. His latest book is ‘Bolivia: Processes of Change’, published in 2013 by Zed Press. His PhD thesis topic was on electoral politics in Peru, and he is currently working on a book about extractive industries in Peru.

Juan Velasquez JFVelasquez Colombian musicologist and violinist. He studied music at EAFIT University, were he studied a BA in music and a MA in musicology. In 2009 obtained a grant from Fundación Carolina to take the course "Cátedra Robert Stevenson para la Preservación y Difusión del Patrimonio Artístico Iberoamericano", in 2011 he received a grant from the Secretary of Culture of Medellin to publish his book "Los ecos de la Villa: La música en los periódicos y Revistas de Medellin (1886-1990)". Actually, thanks to a Fulbright-Mincultura grant, he is a second year student at PhD Musicology program at The University of Pittsburgh.

Joel Horowitz jhorowit Joel Horowitz is a Professor of History at St. Bonaventure University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of two books on politics and the labor movement in Argentina during the first half of the twentieth century as well as numerous articles. He is currently writing about civic associations in greater Buenos Aires in the period before 1943.
