She received her PhD in planning from the University of Toronto and her MSc in global politics from the London School of Economics. Her research focuses on participatory planning, issues of social justice, land value capture and state-society relations in the context of planning in Brazilian cities.

Alice Driver adriver Dr. Alice Driver is the author of More or Less Dead: Feminicide, Haunting, and the Ethics of Representation in Mexico and the translator of Abecedario de Juárez, a collaboration between journalist Julián Cardona and artist Alice Leora Briggs that explores and maps the new language of violence in Mexico. Driver is a columnist at Vela and Al Jazeera English where she writes about activism, human rights, and women’s rights. Andrea Dyrness adyrness Andrea Dyrness is an Associate Professor of Educational Studies at Trinity College. She teaches courses on culture, migration and citizenship in education. Her research has explored the citizenship practices of transnational Latino communities in the United States, Central America, and most recently, Spain. Andrea holds a Ph.D. in Social & Cultural Studies in Education from the University of California, Berkeley and a B.A. in Anthropology & Educational Studies from Brown University. She has held fellowships and appointments in El Salvador, Spain, and Denmark.
