Dr. Renelinda Arana is an Assistant Professor in Sociology at Our Lady of the Lake University. Dr. Arana received her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Texas at Austin. She received her Master’s and Doctorate Degree in Sociology from Princeton University. Dr. Arana conducts scholarly research on immigrant issues, particularly, the educational and civic incorporation of immigrants in the United States and around the world. Furthermore, as co-primary investigator of SAMSHA grant, Dr. Arana implements evidence-based programs that aim to reduce substance abuse and HIV/HepC infection in San Antonio, TX.
