Historically for Latino singers there were only two pathways to success in the United States: sing in English to tap into the existing market or sing in Spanish to grow a fan base until popularity has risen enough to switch over to singing in English. In 2013, artists like Pitbull, Prince Royce, and Romeo Santos were making it in the music industry by following a third path.
