El 14 de enero murió en México Juan Gelman, país en el que vivía hacía más de dos décadas. Para algunos, quizás, el nombre no indique mucho. Para otros quizás represente diferentes aspectos del mundo. Lo cierto es que el 14 de enero la poesía en lengua hispana perdió a uno de sus más grandes referentes.
A través de la historia, hay varias obras de literatura que nos puede guiar y ayudar a entender de forma muy exhaustiva una cierta época de la historia única de nuestro mundo. A veces y en varios contextos puede ser que la pluma y el tintero, cuando acompañados por una mente vigente y una superficie sobre la cual el dueño de esa mente lista y perceptiva puede escribir, sean las herramientas más útiles para pintar un momento histórico.

On October 2, 2015 Carlow University and the city of Pittsburgh were given the pleasure of hosting Richard Blanco, the inaugural poet for Barack Obama’s 2012 inauguration, the poet chosen for the ceremonial reopening of the United States Embassy in Cuba, and an author of various works. Of Blanco’s works many are published by The University of Pittsburgh Press. Blanco started off the evening, which was his first time in Pittsburgh, saying he felt that he had come home.
